Billing Information

Payment for a utility service is due upon receipt and past due 15 days from the billing date. A 10% late penalty is charged for payments received after 8:00 a.m. on the 16th of the month.

All balances must be paid in full before 8:00 a.m. on the 22nd of the month to avoid disconnection. A $30.00 service charge will be added to all accounts not paid by 8:00 a.m. on the 22nd. Restoration payments must be received in office by 4:00 p.m.. All payments received after 4:00 p.m. will be charged an additional $35.00 fee for same day restoration of service.

Failure to receive bill does not entitle delayed payment.

Water Rates:

  • Residential: $17.32/first 2,000 gallons
    • $ 5.91/3,000 to 8,000 gallons (per thousand)
    • $ 7.06/9,000 to 20,000 gallons (per thousand)
    • $ 8.28/21,000 gallons and above (per thousand)
  • Commercial: $17.32/first 2,000 gallons (per thousand)
    • $ 7.06/3,000 to 10,000 gallons (per thousand)
    • $ 8.28/11,000 gallons and above (per thousand)

  • Residential & Commercial:
    • $19.10/first 2,000 gallons
    • $12.89/3,000 gallons and above (per thousand)

Electric Rates

  • Residential:
    • Summer: May through October Billing
      • Base charge - $10.00
      • First 500 kilowatts - $0.088 per kW
      • Next 500 kilowatts - $0.106 per kW
      • Over 1,000 kilowatts - $0.124 per kW
    • Winter: November through April Billing
      • Base charge - $10.00
      • First 500 kilowatts - $0.088 per kW
      • Next 500 kilowatts - $0.082 per kW
      • Over 1,000 kilowatts - $0.076 per kW

Environmental Cost Compliance Recovery (ECCR): $0.009 per kilowatt

In January 2013 the City of Palmetto began charging an ECCR. This is a charge incurred by the plants that generate electricity for upgrades mandated by Environmental Protection. The fee is not charged by the Federal Government. It is a cost of upgrades to the electrical generation plants in order to be in compliance with environmental law.

Power Cost Adjustment: Variable rate

  • Current rate is $0.0166 per kilowatt
  • Commercial electric rates available upon request.

Garbage Collection

Collections

Residential customers receive weekly garbage collection and once a week curbside recycling collection. Garbage and recycling must be at the curb no later than 7:00 am on collection days.

Residential Garbage Fee Schedule: $18.89/month
