The Zoning Board of Appeals is comprised of five (5) members appointed by the Mayor and Council. Each member serves a three (3) year term. One of these five members can serve concurrently as a member of the Planning and Zoning Board. Powers and duties of the Board include:
- Appeals from actions of the zoning administrator.
- Request for a variance.
- Request for extension or enlargement of the nonconforming use of a structure.
- Continuance of nonconformance.
The Zoning Board of Appeals meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Palmetto Community Center, 595 Main Street, Palmetto, GA.
