MORATORIUM ON ACCEPTANCE OF PLANS

The Mayor and Council have instituted a moratorium on the acceptance and approval of those residential preliminary and/or final plats and engineering plans and/or drawings that would require the proposed structures to connect into the City of Palmetto water system. Said moratorium is to span the period of six months through and including January 6, 2009; for the purpose of studying water capacity; indentifying additional sources of water capacity for the City; to promote the public health, safety and welfare; and for other purposes.

WATERING BAN - LEVEL 4

The director of the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) has declared a LEVEL FOUR drought response across the state and will require all Georgians to follow a more stringent outdoor water use schedule.

A LEVEL FOUR drought response declaration allows watering between the hours of 12:00 midnight to 10:00 a.m. on odd and even days by address.

***Water for 25 minute maximum with a hand-held water hose***

Odd: Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday Even: Monday, Wednesday, Saturday

The following is prohibited:

1) Using hydrants for any purpose other than firefighting, public health and safety, or flushing.

2) Washing hard surfaces such as streets, gutters, sidewalks and driveways except shen necessary for public health and safety.

I-85 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
